Bi Pride

I found a pride stocking cap on Ravelry and I thought about doing it in the actual rainbow colours, but I modified it to make it for bi pride.

Bi people get erased from a lot both in and out of the LGBTQ community. We get told we're greedy, or we'll eventually "become" gay or straight, depending on who we date or marry. Lots of gay people won't date bi people, and lots of straight people won't date bi people.

I'm out, but I'm not out-out. I never had a coming out to my parents or family or friends. But I don't shy away from it.

Bi people have a lot of privilege in that regard. We can "pass" and personally on the Kinsey scale I'm a 1/2. So people assume I'm straight anyway.

Bi pride!

The next pussy hat! This one is for my friend in Germany, and I'll be mailing this out tomorrow.

It's made from Caron soft yarn.

I'm halfway done my hook roll, which I'm excited by. It's awkward to work on, but I really want to get

All the colours of the rainbow :D

I made a pussy hat, in support of the woman's march. To me, it's not just about Trump, which is it, but it's also about women's rights in general. I am very pro-choice, pro-equality, and a feminist. And I know that's become a dirty word, but it's not. Radicals co-opted the term and now people are afraid to come out in support of feminism.

But I am a proud nasty girl, just like Sam Bee intended.

Hook Case

My crocheted hook case is coming along nicely. I'm not quite halfway done, it'll be a double rainbow when it is finished though. I can do a single pouch in a couple hours, so it's nice.

I'm using the Bernat cotton yarn because it's really sturdy and hardy.

I made my first aid kit!!!

Not everything lines up perfect, and it's not the best. I didn't block it, and my gauge was probably off. But it looks really nice, I think. I'm happy with it.

This is my most ambitious project yet, the Red Heart First Aid Kit. I've finished part one, which is one of two pockets.

I have to make another one of these, plus a gusset to attach the pockets together, then a front flap and the red cross symbol.

I made mittens! I made them over an evening, because I don't have any. I used the wrong hook size for the yarn I used, but they're still really comfortable and cute. And the pattern was super easy to follow and was great for me, a beginner. I do recommend a stitch counter though, and luckily I had a widget on my phone.

I made my first crocheted toy last night.

It's a dick.

Yeah. I needed to learn how to crochet in the round, for other projects and for the tampon holder I'll make, I needed to learn and practice, so...penis.

It's done in grey because of a bizarre Deep Space Nine headcanon I have. NSFW images under the cut.

So I did it! I finished all my Christmas crafting before finals, which start next week. I don't know if I'll start a new project until after finals. It's tricky because I like keeping my hands busy. But I might keep working on my cross stitch gator for Gator Boy. But I just hate stitching on black, lol. And it's not like Gator Boy is really paying attention. He's too distracted by TBS and his pals. Gator Boy already got the best Christmas Present, which is a boyfriend, possibly two! If only we could convince him to bring Raven here...But that's for later.

The problem with black as well is that I'll probably be stitching after 8pm, using the evening to study. So I'd already be struggling with light.

I have to prep for my wedding this Saturday. I hate Daddy for deciding we had to get married before Rogue One, and before exams. But whatever.

The thing is that I really want to make a couple projects. One is a first aid kit from Red Heart. I don't have a first aid kit (I don't really have any first aid stuff in my house, even) so making this would be handy. I also want to make a penis tampon holder, because of course I do. But I want to make them bigger. I don't use half size tampons, and I want to fit more than 2 in there. I want to fit at least 4 supers. Because, frankly, if I need more than 4 supers while I'm out, I'm not leaving the house.

I bought some yarn for Dany's dragon eggs, but I think I'll use the penises as practice for those...since I don't know how to work in the round yet, and no one cares if dicks are slightly misshapen.

While I'm hanging out in the library before class, however, I'm checking out what yarns I want for certain projects and putting it all into a spreadsheet. Technically that counts as studying for my Excel final, right?

All done

All the scrubbies for Christmas are done, and I finished before my exams, which was my goal.

Four Left!!

I'm going to hit my goal and finish these before exams, I think. I'm hoping to get 1-2 more done today. But here is my latest set done, for my aunt.

[identity profile]
Three full sets left, seven scrubbies in total to go. I'm determined to get them done before exams. I think I can make it.

This set is for my father's wife.

[identity profile]
I'm not making these in "sets" anymore, but doing the two I can make from each ball at a time, so I just finished the set for my step-brother's girlfriend.

[identity profile]
So many of these things...I can't wait to learn to make other things. These are for my step-brother's fiance. I have 15 more to make.

[identity profile]
Another set of scrubbies done. These ones are for my cousin.

Three more scrubbies done! They're pretty easy, coming together in a couple hours.

So this was the first thing I ever crocheted. It's a mat I have on my bedside table to put my phone on overnight. It works great.

Currently, what I'm making are scrubbies, for Christmas gifts. Great for body exfoliating, or for scrubbing pots. Either or. I'm making three each for my female friends and family members. They're a good way for me to learn a basic stitch, and learn to get my tension correct.

I have to get the three going to Fireez done by December 2. For Nomi and Elle, December 12, for my stepfamily, December 23, and for my mom's family, December 24.

I currently have six done:

I started a crochet blog, mostly so that I can link it to Ravelry and not have people get hit with the Friends Only warning on EM.

I'll post pictures of finished things, links to where I get patterns, maybe stash pictures. I dunno.
